History of McCalmont Engineering
McCalmont Engineering was founded by professionals with decades of experience in the solar industry. Tom and Darlene McCalmont previously cofounded Regrid Power, one of the leading solar integrators in California. Over the last decade, Regrid Power developed a reputation for outstanding engineering, high quality installations, and delighted customers. By late 2008, the company was annually constructing 5 MW of residential and commercial solar power plants and had successfully designed and installed over 2,000 solar power plants, including many large and complex commercial solar systems.
The McCalmonts sold Regrid Power to Real Goods Solar in 2008, and it continues to deliver large numbers of solar power plants to the market. After selling Regrid Power in 2008, the McCalmonts set out to create the leading solar engineering company specializing in large-scale power plant designs. Thus, McCalmont Engineering was born, with an aim to provide knowledgeable and experienced solar design and engineering services.
